Starting Area

The game does not handle well a few characters in the combat area and others outside. I really do not like having an interesting combat designed lessened because the party plays too cautiously. I will be trying out this rule and we will see how it works.

Once a initiative has been called but before initiative has been rolled, any figure that is not already in the combat zone will then be moved into a predefined start zone. This zone will be the area surrounding the entry area. There may or may not be any cover in that area and you will have to deal with the consequences for not being proactive and exploring the map.

I understand that characters may have reason to be timid but you all are going to be “MIGHTY HEROES” tm, and hiding in doorways goes against that aesthetic.
